I got the idea for the GD2 Survivor network after being laid off. I was going thru the normal frustrations and anxiety that comes from that when I finally said to myself, “I was impacted but it is time to move on.” At the time friends were visiting and we had a discussion about the current economy. In a mood of fun we coined this as the coming of “GD2”, (Great Depression two). That’s when I decided to launch this site to help other people feeling the same as us to share their stories in an effort to lighten the mood, and give the people a voice.
WE BELIEVE:
The GD2 Survivor Network believes that the current economic situation really stinks. That listening to the media makes us depressed most of the time. That Americans need somewhere to vent, have a laugh, catch a vibe, and buy some cool gear. This is that place

The site is nothing more than an information portal for a group of people willing to share real time information about what is happening on their "main street". A project focused on recovering from this current economic stress.
The heart of the site is what we call “Vibe Posts.” To become a member of the GD2 Survivor Network you just have to submit a Vibe Post. There is no registration required and Vibe Posts can be submitted by the same person multiple times. In fact, the more someone submits the better.

The GD2 Survivor Network was also designed with a “Web 2.0” concept in mind. There is a Facebook page, LinkedIn Group, YouTube channel, and a Twitter account set up to support the national conversation.
